David Doepel is co-founder Chairman and Managing Director of Demand Film, a global theatrical distribution company combining a blockchain loyalty program, crowdsourcing, and data analytics to deliver a new way of promoting films in cinemas. Demand Film currently operates in seven countries and has a network of over 2,500 cinemas. Mr Doepel has more than thirty years of professional experience focusing on innovation in industry, academia and government. He made his first documentary film in 1989 on the subject of PTSD, one of the first films to explore the then, little-understood condition. From that documentary, he built a film production company in the US which he ran for a dozen years. In the two decades since he has served as a Trade Commissioner for Western Australia in the Americas, served as science policy adviser to Premiere Alan Carpenter in Western Australia and held a variety of academic positions including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research at Murdoch University.
