Cyber-safety Committee Surveys Young Australians

06 April 2011

The Joint Select Committee on Cyber-safety has launched an online survey to collect information from Australian youth aged between 5 and 18 years about their online experiences.

The Committee has decided on this course of action because of evidence that it has received about the great value of youth consultation in the development of the Committee’s report. The Committee believes that the input of young people is critical in its inquiry and will be invaluable in making reasoned conclusions and viable recommendations to government.

The survey is available at www.aph.gov.au/cybersafety and is open to Wednesday 27 April 2011.

To ensure the survey is audience appropriate, the Committee has developed two similar questionnaires: one for 5 – 12 year olds and one for 13 – 18 year olds. The survey is completely anonymous.
