Abi commenced her career in advertising in Sydney in 1997 and worked for Octopus Communications, Ogilvy One, Publicis Dialog and evocatif before relocating to Perth in 2005 to work for Marketforce Communications, then establishing Verity Marketing in May 2010.
During her career Abi has developed brand and communications strategies and implemented multi-channel media campaigns across most industry sectors. With significant experience with development of brand identities, creation and implementation of direct marketing campaigns, digital, sponsorships, ambient and experiential advertising, Abi has a sound understanding of channel planning and media buying, print production and research methodologies.
Adam is a leading figure in the mobile marketing industry leader both in Australia and overseas, a status which was recognized in 2006 when he was voted ADMA’s “Mobile Marketer of the Year”. An industry practitioner since 1997, he co-founded the Aura Group of which he has been CEO since 2007. Since founding the company in 2004 he has established Aura as the market leader of mobile and wireless marketing solutions within Asia Pacific and it is recognized globally as an industry pioneer.
Adam’s career in direct marketing has evolved over the past 20 years having worked in both agencies and for clients in Australia and New Zealand. His experience spans various industry categories in both consumer and business markets, across all channels. He is a passionate one-one marketer and has also written 2 books, one on direct marketing – “The Power of 3 – more quality customers, more often, spending more” and the other on loyalty programs - “Give back to get back – 9 steps to a profitable loyalty program”.
After gaining a degree in Marketing and ecommerce at Curtin University in 2003 Anna held a number of digital marketing roles for small and large businesses before joining Market United in 2007. She rose through the ranks of client services, becoming the Head of Account Service in 2009. In this role she heads a team of people who provide digital marketing support for a range of clients including Murdoch University, HBF, IKEA, iinet, Multiplex Living and Burswood Entertainment Complex.
Anna has been a highly popular and effective tutor for ADMA’s Digital Marketing Certificate since 2009.
Chris was formerly the MD of IDC Australia, the premier global provider of market intelligence for the IT, telecoms and technology markets. During his 8 years at the helm he generated a five-fold growth. Since 2006 he has worked as a sales and marketing consultant tackling B2B sales and marketing challenges within his own consultancy and others. He is a Funnel Academy accredited trainer.
Christian has worked in digital marketing and database marketing for many years in Australia and Europe. He is a pioneer in the use of data and measurement to improve marketing performance and established Datalicious in 2007 to focus on making data insights accessible to non-analysts and general marketers. Christian is a regular speaker at marketing events and conferences and is currently the chairman of ADMA’s Data & Analytics council.
Deborah is a marketing professional with 20 years industry experience. She spent the early years of her career with American Express and on the agency side, before enjoying a long and varied career spanning 10 years with Optus. Her last role with Optus was as the Director for Marketing for business, prior to which she was Head of Customer Marketing for consumer. Being at the helm of one of Australia’s best known brands has given her unrivalled experience in customer management and database marketing which she now uses to create direct and digital marketing strategies for clients of her own consultancy.
Frank Chamberlin is an experienced and knowledgeable professional marketer, who, for the past 11 years, has been the Director of the writing consultancy, Action Words.
Frank has been teaching with ADMA since 1998 and he’s also been teaching in the Masters of Marketing at Monash University for more than 10-years. He is an acknowledged copywriter, specialising in direct marketing for large and small clients.
Greg Smith has over two decades of exceptional direct marketing experience gained from a number of domestic and international organisations at senior levels. Greg is the author of seven books, past winner of ADMA’s Young Direct Marketer of the Year, a long term Course Tutor with ADMA and a much sought after speaker and motivator.
Currently Greg presides over TPMG DIRECT, a specialist think tank direct marketing consultancy working with clients including NAB, Australia Post and Singapore Post.
Starting out in media at an ad agency, Helen then moved into direct marketing where she's remained for the past 12 years. In NZ she's worked in the Contact Centre industry, Scholastic, the Direct Marketing Association (now Marketing Association) and Nestlé.
Having recently relocated to Nestlé Australia, Helen is the Relationship Database Manager and manages both the AU and NZ consumer databases and the assists with strategy for brand campaigns. Helen's background includes design, print production, database strategy/management, campaign strategy/management, web and interactive strategy/development.

Jacki is a commercially astute digital marketing professional with over 14 years experience in strategic planning, marketing, production and management of interactive projects & products.Jacki has held both agency & client side roles, and her experience covers a diverse range of audiences & industries including automotive, entertainment, media, human resources, gambling, education and e-commerce. She has worked with some of Australia’s leading brands and organisations including Toyota, Qantas, Telstra, Channel 7, TAB, Monster and Hoyts Cinemas. Her breadth of experience covers digital strategies, business planning, product development, project management, team leadership, financial performance and management, providing her with a good understanding of overall business operations. Jacki’s digital expertise goes beyond the internet and she has developed applications for IVR, kiosks, mobile, QR codes, i-ads and interactive projection installations. Jacki complements her hands-on experience with strong educational credentials having both a Masters in Interactive Multimedia and a Bachelor of Business degree. Outside of her career Jacki is a wife, a mum, a novice jogger and a champion at Final Furlong! As Strategic Planner with Zuni, on any given day Jacki might find herself running a stakeholder workshop, conducting consumer research, brainstorming ideas and developing strategies to maximise audience engagement and achieve client business objectives.
Jane made the switch to recruitment after 14 years as an integrated 'suit' with a strong focus on Direct and Digital. She began her career as an Account Executive at Ogilvy Botswana before moving to Joshua in the UK where she helped set up Club Nokia and worked on Microsoft. Jane progressed to GAD level at EHS Brann working on numerous accounts before moving to Sydney in 2005.
Whilst in Australia she ran the integrated Dell team at DDB and then moved to Clemenger BBDO running Visa and MLC.
Jane spends as much time as possible at the beach or in the water and has a particular passion for scuba diving and is a PADI instructor.
Jane Woodley is the Director of JaneWrites Digital, a leading Brisbane digital copywriting and marketing consultancy, which consults to large and small clients in the travel, insurance, retailing, government, financial and business services sectors. Previously she was the Website Specialist in the eCommerce team at Virgin Blue, responsible for the day to day running of and improvements to all the websites of the Virgin Blue Airlines group. Jane has a thorough understanding of online business, encompassing areas of specialty from online consumer behaviour, writing for the web and usability to SEO and accessibility. She is also a 4-year qualified teacher, with 6 years teaching and curriculum writing experience.
Via Media Communications' Partner and eDM strategist, Jason Neave, has a background in traditional media, having held sales and marketing roles with News Ltd, custom publisher PCP, and Northern Territory Tourism. Prior to forming Via Media with digital industry veterans Anthony Coles and Sam Jeffries, Jason was driving the uptake of eDM in Australia with Premiere Global Services.
Jon has been a copywriter for 25 years, and has run workshops for the last 15 of those. He is passionate both about the craft of copy, and with sharing tips and techniques. A member of the US Echo Academy, Jon has won many awards as well as judged many award shows. He is a freelancer, having worked for himself for 16 out of the last 19 years, bringing a remarkably wide range of practical experience to the course. He began writing for online in 1997, and continues to embrace new channels as and when they arrive.
José started his entrepreneurial journey using the web back in 1995 (when 28k Modems were the norm) and since then has gained extensive experience in:

José co-founded WebTragics in Hobart in 2010 and works closely with ADMA to improve its digital marketing initiatives in Tasmania. Prior to this José managed a number of web based businesses in tourism, agency and sales both as a Director and as an employee. He is a well-regarded presenter, tutor and mentor with regards to digital technologies and online marketing.
Justin is Head of Creative – with an art bias. Justin has headed up a creative consultancy business for 12 years. His experience has lead him to be responsible for campaigns for clients such as CHOICE, Red Cross, Merrill Lynch HSBC, BusinessWeek Asia, The Standard (Hong Kong), ACP, IMP, Reader’s Digest, the National Trust and many more. Justin has driven many campaigns and test programs to hundreds of thousands of customers month after month. Justin’s expertise lies in Direct Mail and Direct Response e-campaigns and 'what pushes the buttons'. His skills in 'leading the eye' through a direct response print or an e-campaign are based on tried and tested methodologies.
Kimberley has been a key figure in the Queensland direct marketing community for 17 years and was a former member of ADMA’s QLD committee. After 8 years working in client services with agencies Grantley Gogzell Benn and Clemenger, she is now head of marketing for Austsafe Super. Her hands-on practical experience in delivering campaigns and developing strategy both agency and client-side make her an ideal tutor for the certificate course which she has taught since 2001.
Linda is one of direct marketing's most experienced account service personalities, with a career spanning 18 years in London, Sydney and New Zealand, where she headed up Saatchi & Saatchi's Direct division in Wellington. She managed many clients during that time including British Airways, CBA, Dow Elanco, Woolworths, Tower Insurance NZ Telecom and James Hardie.
Linda started her recruitment career in 1997 and has many successful direct, digital and CRM placements to her name in Australia, Asia and the UK. She is also involved with ADMA, as a member of the NSW Branch Committee for many years as well as a sponsor of ADMA Education.
The concept of Suit School came about after meeting a number of the industries account handlers over many years which highlighted the need for practical training on the basics of account service and why the relationships and processes of the role are so important.
Mark manages First Rate's team of online marketing consultants. He oversees projects for clients such as Vodafone, Big W, Dymocks and Allianz, as well as setting the strategic direction for the company and ensuring First Rate innovates and responds to the fast-moving search landscape.
Mark started his online career as a web developer in 1994 for BBC, HP and Sony. From 1999 he worked for Microsoft in London, managing the rollout of MSN sites to 22 countries. Other work includes online marketing for Microsoft Australia and Lexis Nexis, working in Seattle to overhaul the tracking of marketing spend for Microsoft globally, and consulting to the NSW Government and a range of ecommerce start-ups.
Melina has 16 years experience in the regulation of the telecommunications industry. She has worked on the introduction of the Do Not Call Register Act and the Australian Law Reform Commission’s review of Australian Privacy Legislation. Melina brings extensive, practical experience in the management of privacy and other legislative obligations in Australian business.
Melina has a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Macquarie University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Mike has been a leading figure in the digital marketing industry both in Australia and overseas for 10 years. He has held senior management roles in a number of digital agencies, the latest as the Managing Director of Profero for 3 years, before starting up his own agency, Zuni in early 2010. He has worked with many major brands, e.g. Apple, HSBC, Suncorp, Volvo, Aventis, Nike, Burger King amongst others. He has been the head tutor for digital marketing for ADMA for 5 years and been on the judging panel for several industry awards.

Neil is a direct marketing professional with over 20 years experience in and direct marketing industries. He’s best known for his innovative use of mail and has managed countless consumer and B2B marketing campaigns in many different industries including finance and banking, automotive, charities, retail, publishing and healthcare. He now runs his own company offering a wide range of marketing services and consultancy.
Regan started in database marketing in the early 90’s working for Westpac, where he established their data-mining capability, and data warehouse and designed the bank’s CRM strategy. He then ran 2 providers of database management services before setting up Digital Alchemy in 2004. His business has grown to become a leader in the field of out-sourced customer database management and a pioneer in the field of marketing automation. DA’s clients include Suncorp, IAG, ING, Virgin Group and RACQ.
Russell Easther is the founder and director of The Interactive Group established in 2006. He is an interactive marketing professional with experience from appointments on the world’s leading businesses and brands spanning three continents. His career started in interactive marketing and media back to his university days in the 1990's where he studied a Bachelor of Communications degree with a major in Advertising and minor in interactive multimedia.
At Collaboraid Sandra helps companies develop and implement their digital strategies by structuring, training and growing their digital teams. She has a very practical and can-do attitude, which ensures she makes digital happen in ways that work for her clients. Sandra made the move from TV production to the digital industry in early 2000, the year of the bust. Her first experience in the digital field was gained in the UK with a digital agency called Stickyeyes. Her move to Perth in 2002 coincided with the start up of Market United where she started as an Account Director and grew to become CEO. She has been responsible for shaping and driving the company’s commercial strategy, managing sustainable growth, and shaping the MU Way (a positive and honest way of working with our clients) in which staff could flourish. Over the years she has completed extensive consultancy on the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies.
Sarah Richardson is the CRM Director at SapientNitro and has 15 years Direct Marketing and CRM experience working in industries such as IT, telecommunications, travel, retail, automotive and insurance. She has managed the strategy and execution of CRM programs across loyalty, retention, acquisition and cross sell utilizing the full spectrum of below the line mediums. Sarah was the QLD chairman of ADMA for 3 years and tutors the final year of the Direct Marketing course at QUT.
After completing his education and a brief stint working in the hospitality industry, Simon started work in the online marketing arena in 2003. He is experienced in all aspects of digital marketing but his area of speciality has always been Search. In his capacity as Search specialist for a number of digital agencies he’s worked across a wide variety of clients, including blue chip clients in: Finance, FMCG, Automotive, Travel, Technology and Entertainment. Simon’s particular area of expertise is the integration of search into all aspects of marketing, coupled with gaining insights from analytics data to deliver on business objectives.
Tim has over 7 years experience in the digital media industry. He has a passion for innovation, social media marketing, online strategy and the mobile web. Tim has worked across a number of award-winning projects for international and domestic clients including Sony Pictures (US), ABC (US), Coca-Cola Europe, Channel 4 (UK), Telstra, Yahoo!7 and ABC (Aus). He has developed as a digital strategist from his roots in web development so he brings a blend of marketing thinking and technical understanding to everything he does. Tim enjoys finding new ways to inform, entertain and inspire online audiences through innovative marketing and compelling content.
Tom is founder and director of Skotidas, the first agency in Asia Pacific to specialise in B2B Social Media Lead Generation.Tom started out as a direct response copywriter in New York, in 1994. Since then, he has held senior roles in digital marketing, direct marketing, and business development. Until March 2011, Tom served as head of marketing and business development at First Rate, one of Australia’s leading digital marketing agencies. In just under four years, Tom helped grow the agency from a small office of just two staff, into one of Australia’s largest players in search and performance marketing with over 20 staff and millions in annual client billings. Driving a large part of this growth was Tom’s pioneering use of social networks to generate qualified sales leads and grow client engagement. Today, he consults on the strategies and tactics of social media lead generation, to blue chip B2B companies in Australia and Asia Pacific.

Warren is digital business specialist, having worked in the ecommerce space for the past 8 years. He has formal qualifications from Curtin University of Technology, in Electrical Engineering (Computer Systems Engineering). Warren started his career working with major IT companies such as Microsoft Pty Ltd and CSC Australia in various technical sales roles, before making the move online with ineedhits.com – a Perth based, globally focused Search Engine Marketing firm. Over the next 7 and half years, he worked in various parts of the business before being promoted to COO. In 2008, Warren took the helm as CEO of ineedhits.com and recently joined MinesOnline.com – a joint venture between PCF Capital (Corporate Advisory firm) and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Warren’s speciality is client acquisition with a focus on digital strategies to achieve the overall business objectives. On the weekends, Warren can be found on the softball diamond, as one of only a handful of internationally accredited umpires in Australia. As General Manager Digital, Yean heads up emitch QLD and also represents Columbus Search, Visual Jazz (digital creative agency) and Social Media Unit of the Aegis-Mitchell Communication Group Digital division, delivering a full-service digital offering to Queensland clients.
Yean's 20-year career in marketing, advertising, travel, hospitality and retail spanned from Asia to Australia. She started in digital in 2002 with ZUJI.com, having launched and headed up marketing of three travel websites, including Blueholidays.com.au, the holiday packages platform of Virgin Blue.
Prior to emitch, Yean was Head of Digital and Direct with Clemenger Brisbane where she first started working on the Tourism Queensland account. This relationship continued into her current role with emitch. Her other current and past clients include the Virgin Blue Group, Flight Centre, Domino's, Brisbane Marketing, Network Ten, Griffith University, Bank of Queensland and Telstra Country Wide.
Yean is an active member of the interactive marketing community, speaking at events around the country, and conducts digital workshop for clients and students.
