The Role of ADMA

About ADMA

The Australian Direct Marketing Association is the peak industry body of the Australian direct marketing industry.

ADMA’s goal is to help educate, advocate for and bring together, the industry with the ultimate aim of producing enlightened and responsible direct marketing to consumers.

ADMA has over 500 member organisations including major financial institutions, telecommunications companies, energy providers, travel service companies, major charities, statutory corporations, educational institutions and specialist suppliers of direct marketing services.

Almost every Australian company and not-for-profit organisation directly markets to its current and potential customers as a normal and legitimate part of its business activities and the ability to continue to conduct this activity underpins a good proportion of Australia’s economic activity.

How does ADMA help Consumers?

ADMA provides advice and assistance to consumers in relation to how to protect their privacy and understanding their rights under Australian legislation and the ADMA Code of Practice.

In addition to assisting consumers with inquiries ADMA can also assist consumers resolve complaints with ADMA members.

ADMA members abide by a Code of Practice that requires honesty and fairness in customer dealings. The Code was developed in consultation with industry, government and consumer groups.

As a symbol of their commitment to honesty, fair trading and protection of your details ADMA members can be identified through the use of the ADMA Code Compliant symbol on their marketing material.

The ADMA Code of Practice is overseen by the ADMA Code Authority.
