    Ian Lyons started in technology with his first computer in 1979 when PCs were first becoming available to hobbyists. His career has spanned isolated PCs to the very first networks through to the physical Internet and now the human social layer that sits on top if it all.

    He has worked with organisations of all sizes and extensively in Europe and the US. In 1997 Ian led the first Internet team for TAFE NSW and over 3 years introduced Internet access to the classrooms of over 1.5 million students.

    In 2000 he helped found publishing startup Line56 (print and online) in Los Angeles just in time for the tech crash that bankrupted most competitors who weren’t able to take advantage of cost saving Internet technologies quickly enough.

    Returning to Australia Ian became a Consultant Digital Director focused on helping organisations (such as Sydney Festival, Shangri La Hotels, P&O and CareCareers) apply digital tools to make their marketing activities much more meaningful and effective.

    He has taught the ADMA Digital Marketing Certificate, guest lectured at masters level and presented at TEDx on drones.

    Niall Keating is a technology professional specializing in telecommunications, products and marketing, with over 15 years of experience spanning 4 continents. During this time Niall has accumulated extensive experience in vendors, system integrators and service providers.     Alanna Gombert is currently General Manager, CatalystDesk at Condé Nast where she oversees programmatic and exchange strategy and sales.

    Alanna joined Condé Nast from Google by way of Admeld where she ran the trading desk, agency, and demand-side platform relationships and helped grow RTB from an idea to a killer business. Alanna is currently also Chair of the IAB’s Programmatic Publishers Task Force where she is leading efforts to ensure programmatic creates value for all stakeholders.
    Prior to Admeld, Alanna worked at Right Media, the first online advertising exchange, where she focused on ad selection algorithms and market dynamics. Right Media was acquired by Yahoo in 2007. Her early career included stints with Nielsen, DoubleClick, and the finance world with JP Morgan Chase and Commerzbank. Advertising has allowed her to travel the world and she has experience in international markets including EMEA, APAC, and Latin America.
    Alanna is also a board member and an advisor to multiple startups and non profits including Girl Develop It, an organization dedicated to teach women to code.

    Christian Kugel is VP, Consumer Analytics & Research at AOL. He oversees the market research and sales research teams and is responsible for infusing the organization around the voice of the consumer, developing new advertising ROI solutions and surfacing salient consumer insights for product and sales functions. Prior to AOL, Christian held research and innovation positions in VivaKi, Millward Brown and Starcom.
    Prior to AOL, he was SVP, Strategy and Innovation and VivaKi, where he worked with senior leadership to navigate new data and research challenges posed by emerging media. Prior to that, Christian held research and innovation positions at Millward Brown and Starcom.

    Sergio’s career in the Financial Services began in 1995 when he joined Santander in Portugal as a call centre adviser. He quickly rose through the ranks being promoted to take responsibility for training and recruitment for the division including all MI reporting and technical support. In 1996 Sergio was responsible for the development of the first Internet banking service in Portugal within Santander.

    In 2008 he was invited to join the UK branch of Santander to take on the challenge of rolling out the CRM capability into Santander UK. In 2001 he began to develop the strategy and approach of a CRM capability which created a 360 degree view of the customer within an organisation where the needs of the customer were at the heart of everything.

    In 2011 Sergio joined Lloyds Banking Group as Customer Interaction Management Director and in August 2013 he was appointed as Customer Insights & Interactions Director.

    Samir Mahir is CIO, Tennis Australia, responsible for establishing the organisation’s IT strategy and the delivery of effective solutions as well as innovations for the organisation, the Australian Open and the Australian Open Series. Tennis Australia is the governing body of tennis within Australia, linking to member associations throughout the country. Prior to joining Tennis Australia in 2011, Samir spent 12 years at IBM with its Events team leading the management and delivery of the IBM Worldwide Sponsorship Events and Portfolio including Roland Garros, Wimbledon, the US Open and the Masters golf. Before joining IBM, Samir was Director of Information Technology at the United States Tennis Association.

    Timothy Pilgrim

    Australian Privacy Commissioner

    Timothy Pilgrim was appointed Privacy Commissioner on 19 July 2010 after being Deputy Privacy Commissioner since February 1998. Prior to that he held senior management positions in a range of Australian Government agencies, including the Small Business Program within the Australian Taxation Office and the Child Support Agency.

    Timothy has made a significant contribution to the field of privacy in Australia. His achievements include involvement in developing the private sector provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and he also played a key role in implementing the private sector provisions, which took effect on 21 December 2001. More recently, Timothy has participated in the Australian Law Reform Commission inquiry into Australian privacy laws and practice, and continues to work on privacy law reform.

    Timothy has works at the international level to ensure that Australia is equipped to deal with global privacy challenges.

Stephen has served in NZ, UK and North America as a senior executive of world leading digital marketing, data and technology companies and as an agent of strategic change and inspiration for Fortune 500 clients, public organisations and startups including: the NHS, O2, Oxfam, Coca Cola, JPMorgan Chase, Diageo, McDonald's, Pentland, ABInBev, BHF, NSPCC, Audi, Lloyds, StandardLife and more recently Telecom NZ to name a few.     Jane Huxley is the managing director of Pandora Australia and New Zealand – responsible for the introduction and growth of personalised radio service Pandora to the ANZ market, drawing on her 25 years of strategic business, marketing, sales and change management in the Asia Pacific region. 

    Jane’s experience in identifying and transitioning companies to digital based business was heavily cultivated in her prior role at Fairfax Media, Australia’s largest news, information and community website group, where she held the position of CEO and Publisher for the Digital Division (Metropolitan).  In this role, Jane led the product, mobile, video and online business approaches and oversaw the online technology, creative, marketing and online editorial divisions.
    Within her career, Jane has held several senior positions with some of the biggest national and international technology lifestyle brands and initiatives, such as Microsoft, Vodafone and Earth Hour, where she has worked across technical, sales and marketing arms of the businesses. Amongst many marketing and business qualifications, Jane is also Graduate (GAICD) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a degree in Change Management from AGSM.
    Jane is passionate about her work at Pandora: bringing free streaming radio to people around Australia and New Zealand that is uniquely customised to each listener. On a personal note, Jane’s Pandora stations are heavily influenced by two defining characteristics: her completely unfulfilled life as an actress resulting in a whole lot of show tunes/angst ridden female vocals, and her husband and two young daughters, culminating in a weird mash up of Disney and Pearl Jam.

Before being appointed CEO Mark sat on the Mi9 Board of Directors.

    Mark has a wealth of executive and commercial experience in online, advertising and consumer technology fields and the Australian, European and Asia-Pacific markets. He is an established leader and has an impressive track record in identifying breakthrough business opportunities, executing high profile joint ventures and pioneering transformational partnerships in digital.

    Mark returned to Australia after spending four years with Microsoft, most recently as General Manager for Consumer and Online. In his time at Microsoft, Mark built the first integrated consumer team in Asia Pacific, bringing together MSFT's consumer software, advertising and marketing assets for the first time.

    Mark is passionate about the vision of combining old and new media, and is a true believer in the opportunity for data and technology to create amazing new content experiences and deliver effective advertising results for clients and users.

    Richard runs Data and Services for Mi9, and is responsible for our owned and operated products, technology and client services.  Since 2012 Richard has led Mi9’s data business, working with a talented team to bring on new products and new options for marketers.

    In recent years he served as Technology Director of moneysupermarket.com, and as a Division Director at Macquarie Group. An alumnus of BCG, he was managing director of ThoughtWorks, a software consultancy, in the UK before moving to Australia.

    A mathematician by training, Richard has a passion for technology not for its own sake but for what it can do.  He has a long track record of bringing new ideas to market and for connecting what can be done with what adds value.
